Wild Mountains Songs
2019

2019 marked the first year Wild Mountains Songs was financially backed by the arts.

Thanks to Scenic Rim Council (Regional Arts Development Fund) and APRA AMCOS, we increased artist numbers to twelve and brought in Darek Mudge who set up a studio in Bruce’s Shed on the land. Darek says, “I measured the room with frequency response software and this space actually has more neutral response than any professional studio control room I have measured.  Accidental perfection!”

We also invited Kellie Lloyd from APRA AMCOS to talk to us about equality in the music industry; Bec Robertson from Headspace and Bass to talk us through mental positivity and meditation; and Hannah Crofts walked us through an awesome illustration session to open the right side of the brain.

The Process

Songwriters were paired with a co-writer to complete a new song within 24 hours, and did this twice over the course of four days.

Each song was then recorded, and then performed in front of everyone.

Here’s  one of our favourite songs of 2019. Siobhan Corcoran + Stephen Grady - "The Right Place".
