We are thrilled to be partnering with our friends at I Heart Songwriting Club to bring a new format of songwriting retreat for songwriter’s of all levels in 2024. The retreat will be held in the days leading up to BIGSOUND (Aug 31 to Sept 2) and hosted at our favourite place, Wild Mountains. 2022
In March 2022 the fifth incarnation of Wild Mountains Songs took place.
2020
2020 was the year that COVID really hit the music industry hard. It was a time when artists needed to connect with one another more than ever. Due to travel restrictions, artists came from nearby areas in South East Queensland and Northern NSW, and for the first time, we had two studios to capture the magic. This was of the most special events yet.
2019
2019 marked the first year of financial music industry backing for Wild Mountains Songs. The support meant that we were able to set up a mobile recording studio in Bruce’s Shed run by Darek Mudge; and allowed the introduction of artistic and health workshops for the songwriters.
2017
Given 2016 was such a success, why wouldn’t you do it again? This year with a few more artists, a videographer and a wilder spirit.
2016
Wild Mountains Songs had very special and humble beginnings. Six songwriters from different corners of Brisbane’s music scene came together to write songs and have a breather, some meeting for the very first time. Four songs out of the six created over this weekend have been released.
